Henna will stain scar tissue perfectly well ..... but there's a fair amount variation depending on the scar. If the scar is very recent (very thin layer of skin formed over the damage) , and there is a lot of discoloration underneath, results can be a little dissappointing. Henna is a transluscent stain, and if the scar tissue is really glassy and thin, there won't be much for the henna to hang on tol If the tissue is dark colored with bruising or imcomplete healing, the bittersweet color will be struggling to cover the other colors. If the scar is old, and white or silvery, the take should be perfectly fine. If there's been enough surgery that circulation is impared, (feel the foot to see if it feels warm or cold) you may need to add plenty of extra heat in terms of hot pads, or steam to improve color. There is no adverse effect of henna on scar tissue. Depending on the scar patterns .... you can use them as starting points for ferns, vines, flowers ..... they can help a person reclaim an injury, or have fun defying the damage.
