henna hair powder stuff

I've read somewhere in the message board that henna hair products cannot be used on the skin because they cause rashing, blisters and other nasty stuff. My curiosity is if it can't be used on the skin, but can be used in your hair, how does your scalp fair with that exposure??

I'm trying in the middle of trying to work out how to dye my own skin for the hell of it, but I'm not having much luck in getting hold of any specific skin products down here. A couple of people said to just get the powder shit for your hair, and mix it up and that'll do it. Of which I have located, but am now a bit worried about applying it after reading the bullitin in regard of the consequences of using the hair stuff on your skin . . .
