Aftercare sheet...an examplePosted by Kenzi on April 11, 2001 at 16:47:32: In a discussion about lemon-sugar and aftercare farther down the page,I offered to post my aftercare sheet. This is what I hand out to clients (and now I am going to staple to it a little baggie containing a lemon-sugar soaked cotton ball). Feel free to copy it, edit it, use it as your own. Most of what is in here are tips that I picked up from people here anyway. Here it is: "After-care instructions To ensure that your henna design comes out dark and lasts a long time, just remember your M.A.T.H.: Moisture: - keep the paste moist by wrapping it up well; this traps your body heat and moisture - at night, wear a sock, glove or ace bandage over it Acidity: - the lemon juice in the paste will contribute acidity; the lemon-sugar mixture also helps...keep dabbing it on occasionally before you wrap Time: - keep the henna in contact with your skin as long as possible, about 6-12 hours; sleeping with the henna paste on is best - you will be rewarded for your patience! Heat: - while the paste is on, keep the area warm by wrapping it up well - for designs on the stomach or back, put a heating pad over the area The day after: - steam the area for 5-10 min. over a sink or basin filled with boiling water - this loosens the paste so you can scrape it off with your fingernails or a blunt knife (do not use water to remove, try rubbing it off with oil) - do not get the design wet for 1 day after applying it - rub a little oil over the area before showering and don’t scrub the area or ge
