some tipsPosted by Darlahood on May 16, 2001 at 03:48:01: In reply to: I recently had a black henna tatoo-no reaction, but could it still be dangerous? posted by Stephanie on May 16, 2001 at 03:03:56: There are artists out there using ppd-free forms of dye that willstain the skin the way henna does. This is not henna because henna does not ever get black. The best way to tell if a "henna" dye has ppd is if it lasts for more than a week and still looks really dark. If you can, go back to the artist and ask him for a list of the ingredients of the stuff he uses. He should have that information on hand if he's a respectable artist and business person. Last but not least, if you think you might have gotten way too much than you bargained for, see a doctor.
