I can't think of any reason that an astringent would be a problem in
pregnancy... except in a folk wisdom sort of way, that parallels the
"moist, fecund" nature of pregnant ladies with "moist fecund" things
.... i.e. pregnant ladies should eat melons, because they resemble
them.

IN any case, henna is very safe for dying hair.

The Goddess Lakshmi considers it offensive for pregnant women to
henna, as she feels that pregnant women are *polluted* .. but if you
are not a devotee or Lakshmi, or otherwise don't feel you're polluted,
you can be confident that henna is not going to be a problem.
