It sounds to me like it "just fell off" in about ten days, which is
what I'd expect Mud to do. If she's right, it's because of something
she did, like pick it off right away, put lotion on, or go swimming
right after, which is not your responsibility. I'd offer to give her
a discount at the next event just for customer-relations (i.e. to
keep her from spreading bad gossip because you weren't fooled by her)
and I would make sure to go over with her how to keep a good stain
on. I hand out an aftercare sheet which tells people what to do and
what not to do to keep a stain and people really like them. You may
want to consider making one up to make sure everyone gets all hte
info they need while you're in the middle of a decorative frenzy.
