Ok, so I'm totally in love with henna art however working in my
town's hot spot (Wal-Mart) I'm working up a great case of the gryphs.
Some people have really great reactions to my designs *I do my hands
a lot* but then there are those who look at me as if I have leprosy
or something. Do any of the rest of you get that? I mean I actually
had one woman say "Is that permanent? Cause I sure hope it isn't and
that it was just you being bored." I mean, yeesh what a way to smash
a person's artistic ego. I also get a lot of "Oh is that the new fad
then" sort of brushing off something that's probably more ancient
than they can fathom, besides there obviously aren't people running
around my town with henna done if they react the way they do to my
designs! How is it where the rest of you live, just out of
curiousity? Sorry if I'm seeming more than a little peeved right now,
but for nearly three weeks I've had to explain henna to too many
people who think of me as just some kid persuing the next going
thing. First of all I'm not a kid, young but not a kid, and second it
obviously isn't the going thing seeing how most people have no idea
what it is. *sighs* how do you guys deal with it? Right now CCJ is a
saint in my eyes, as I suppose she's dealt with this kind of thing
for a long time. Sorry to sort of spam, but I needed to vent and most
of you probably understand, and could perhaps use a good vent session
as well.
