Re: henna on leatherPosted by Lauren on August 20, 2001 at 20:29:22: In reply to: henna on leather posted by Rox on August 20, 2001 at 20:02:05: I suspect the lamps are that way simply because they don't bother toremove it. I saw one over the weekend and it was half flaked off. I'd say apply it fairly thickly and leave it on until you can flake it off with your hand. You may have a bit of residue left on the head but that will vibrate off fairly quickly with playing. I don't know how moisture would affect the stain after paste removal, so I would be especially careful to keep the head dry for a couple weeks to let the stain set. Hand sweat shouldn't be an issue. : Hi all, : Been away for a few months, but popping in when I've had a chance. : I've been thinking about doing mehndi on some goat skin drum heads : that I've had laying around for a while. I obviously won't want to : leave the henna on the heads as seems to be the technique with lamps, : but wasn't sure how to go about removing it without staining the rest : of the drum head, etc. : : Anyone had any experience with this? : : Thanks! : Rox
