good henna plus terpinol EOs equals wimpy stain- why?

I used my moroccan henna, which has always been excellent, mixed with
Kenzi's Enfleurage Cajeput, which is also known to be excellent. I
did get a quicker stain but not a darker one. How come? Also, my
palm is reddish-brown while the back of my hand is rather mousy-
brown. The fade has been faster than I expected, too- right now the
palm is mostly the same color as the tops of my fingers, which were
henna-lemon-sugar-eucalyptus oil mixed and LS sealed overnight four
weeks ago. The palm is fading quicker than the back of the hand as
well. Very odd.
One other thing I've noticed is that my eucalyptus oil (snowdrift
farms) seems to make the henna get darker faster but does not seem to
affect the fade any. Must do more research...
