Sirius Southwest is looking good!Posted by Alissa on October 10, 2001 at 18:14:19: Per our Sirius director & henna grand poo-bah's approval, I wanted toshare with all Forum members some current information on Sirius Southwest (SSW). Right now the dates look to be May 16-19. How does that look for others' schedules? The site is the Cedro group campgrounds, a lovely site in the Cibola Natl Forest. This site will be ours exclusively once booked (booking begins about Jan 1 '02). There are restrooms, grills, a covered group shelter, concrete picnic tables, a fire pit, and a water hookup. Expect camping conditions overall. It's a bargain at $60 per day for our group to use. The site is at 7300 feet & will get COLD at nights, even in late May. I will harrangue you all to bring layers of clothing. You will want winter clothes at night & early morning, then 80* clothes for the days. If there is a campfire restriction (there sometimes is in May if we are dry that year) then no camp fire - even colder then folks - but grill use is permitted. Bring a Coleman stove if you like, but I don't think it's necessary. Food will be coordinated by me and costs for the site, food & CCJ's compensation will be split collectively. All cost info will be sent and approved by CCJ to insure fairness. I'll get with everyone regarding dietary needs & more exact costs when it's a lot closer to May. For pictures of the site or more info, email me. If someone can host a pic of the site so all the Forum can see, lemme know and I will email it to you. I will be back on the Forum/email later tonight! I can't wait to see you all! Catherine is talking rangoli as well as henna for her time with us and I for one am so excited I could jump outta my skin! A henna fest galore!!
