I really appriciate it. I will post, how did it go.: I've been on tv, film and video many, many times. : : Write up an outline of what YOU want to cover, along with suggested : questions. : Email that outline to the interviewer. : Tell them to decide FROM THAT LIST what they think their audience : wants to hear based on what you've sent them. : This will save both of you endless bother and fumbling about! : : Arrange for them to provide you a volunteer to henna on camera (or : bring someone) : : Send them some stills, or see if they can pull stills (that YOU : choose) off the internet. : : Answer those questions, talking to yourself while driving around in : the car. The more often you do this pretend conversation, the more : smoothly the interview will go! You have to respond fast, smoothly, : and leave little or no dead air. : : Wherever it is they tell you to stare (a blue dot or some damn thing), : pretend it's your best friend, and talk to it as if you're both very : happy. BUBBLE! SPARKLE! : : Bring visual aids, such as a box of henna, cones, pattern books. : Whenever possible .. SHOW rather than tell! Henna yourself or someone : else wonderfully. "Paste on" looks better on camera! I'd actually : recommend going in "paste on" and scraping off the henna on camera so : people can see what henna does! Red, especially henna red, actually : looks pretty unfortunate on camera. : : Wear black, blue, green ... DO NOT wear red. Watch tv and see what : looks good. Watch the show you'll be on and check the background : color of the studio so you won't clash. : : Don't wear glasses if you can avoid it! Put on your own makeup, and : wear plenty of it. (I keep forgetting this and I look FOUL on : camera!) Most people look better if they starve 48 hours before going : on camera, but to hell with that! : : Arrive early, and settle your nerves by hennaeing that volunteer. : Have them videotape that. They'll stick bits of that tape here and : there to cover glitches. : : Sit on your shirt and stretch your neck very long, holding your head : as high as possible. (Pretend you're a giraffe). This makes you look : vastly better! : : Good luck! : : Bear down on PPD black henna!
