Is this just from the camphor in the mix, or can you see any
difference in oxidation from rubbing on camphor post-paste?

So you think it is the oxidizing of the camphor that made a difference
and not any heat created by the rub (in other words, it would have to
be camphor specifically, not any heating balm would do)?
