Thanks for the ideas! Here is what I'm planning to try: 1) Paint design with melted wax onto paper or plastic sheet, let harden. When ready to use, warm the wax template just enough to get it pliable and apply to skin, maybe use sugar/water to help adhere. Let wax template harden slightly, but not brittle. Fill in open space with henna paste. I might try applying a thin sheet or coating of wax over the whole design to lock it in, so to speak. I fear the whole problem will be, as Roxanne mentioned, if the wax becomes so brittle that the whole design crumbles and shifts. Maybe someone knows how to keep wax flexible at body temp while maintaining shape and not dripping. 2) After reading another thread I might try painting directly onto the skin using a facial mask product, then applying henna over the mask and onto the open areas of skin, followed by a complete design cover with the mask. This seems like a promising experiment. If anyone recognizes inherent flaws in these ideas, please let me know. I promise to follow-up with my results. Thanks again. Tracy Stewart ttodd@ou.edu : I'm looking for someone who has tried dripping/painting wax designs : on skin before applying henna paste over the design to stain the : negative space of the wax design.
: Or.... has used paper strips or tape in a similar fashion. : What were the results? : Any negative reaction of the skin from the wax? : What kind of wax or paper and how did you apply it? : Thanks! : Tracy Stewart : ttodd@ou.edu
