Ah - ok, you've sifted multiple times through something fine, tossed
the larger bits, mixed a smooth paste, and you're still having
trouble. No clogs from large grains or lumps that way. Hmmm...

Agreed with Kenzi that you have to make sure the metal tips are clean.
If you do get stuff dried onto the inside, it can break off later and
cause clogs. I've had to soak, scrub, then re-soak and scrape the
inside with a pin - relentlessly - when I let the stuff dry on.

If it's not clogs of one type or another, then I'm as baffled as you
are about why you're not getting a smooth flow. Maybe try emptying,
cleaning, and using a totally different kind of stuff inside
(toothpaste or honey or even lemon juice) to see if you get the same
pattern?

I also use the kind of bottles meant for fabric paint, and they're as
you described (mine came with one small and one large bottle + 4 tips
and the pins for them - don't have the package so I can't check
brand). I've also tried other small plastic bottles. As long as
there are no leaks, it should work!
