The cut and paste function helps .... I can get a motif drawn with
the mouse, then I can repeat it out into a band.
The hand you see in so many of the sheets is actually just traced
from me putting my hand on the screen, drawing around it, then tidying
that up. Pretty low-tech. It's marked JRhand, which means it's for
all the work that goes out in the Jeremy Rowntree world. But, that
hand and the harquus face are the only things that get re-used from
one page to the next. The motifs are different on each pattern sheet,
because they're coming from different traditional sources .... so each
pattern starts from scratch with the mouse. I've gotten really
comfortable drawing with my mouse .... it's easier for me, anymore
than a pen, because a pen and paper has no "enlarge" function! Also
... a cat or pugdog isn't going to come and park on my drawing spoil
it while I get a cuppa coffee ..... if the drawing is saved on my
harddrive! There are a lot of things I love about my mouse .... It's
really as comfortable as a pencil now, and easier in many ways. It
just took a while to re-wire my drawing pathway.
