REAL Black Henna??Posted by Rosemary on September 7, 2001 at 23:49:33: I just spoke with a woman at a booth that offered henna tattoos withblack henna from India, announcing that they lasted 2-3 weeks. When I questioned her the first thing she said was that it didn't cause allergic reactions and insisted that it was "real" black henna. She told me that it was really expensive, really hard to come by, and she wouldn't sell me any. She said she mixed it only with water, and let the paste sit on 20 to 30 minutes. Is there a natural black henna, and could this be it? I have seen a lot of variations on the black henna theme this summer, but never anyone that insisted that their product was natural. It came in a little brown glass bottle with a brown plastic top with the image of 2 swans facing each other on the`plastic top. The bottom of the glass bottle had something on it but I foolishly didn't study it carefully. It looked suspiciously like the "black henna" in the HOYU bottle, which I asked about earlier. By the way, thanks Noli (if you read this) for the info about them. I contacted them and they don't make any henna products, so someone must be using their hair dye to make it. Speaking of Noli, your family photos are so incredibly, exotically beautiful!! After I saw them I dreamed that night that I had a henna tattoo on my face. Anyone know what this henna might be??
