Question regarding Rangoli for ya CCJ...

I posted this attached to my compliments on the Rangoli you postedpics of (which was amazingly beautiful if I may add) but was
curious...
I'd really like to try to make one sometime. But, I'm not sure how
well it'd go over here on campus. We're a Catholic school, not sure
how well the lil old nuns will go for the different culture related
ritual... I was thinking though... could one also make one in their
bedroom using that carpet freshner powder, or baking soda... just for
a momentary thing... leave it on the floor till its smeared or even
till its trampled into the carpet... or would that be defiling the
tradidion too much? I'd love to try it, but don't have the space to
do it in an outside setting here. Any suggestions or advice would be
immensely appreciated.
