I hope that this information doesn't sound too redundant to those who may already know this, but I'm going to post this on my site. The "white fly" and "black aphid" problems that so many of us are having with growing our henna plants are a strange botanical condition known as "White Fly" and "Black Aphid" infestations. How appropriate. Both are fairly easily treated with insecticidal soap - most garden centers or large Kmart-like stores will carry it. It is very non- toxic to mammals, but you have follow the instructions and apply it as often as they say. What I don't get is the fact that the person who gave me the information told me that if you can put the plant outside during the summer, that will take care of any infestation as well. It seems that that is where they pick up the insects in the first place. Hmmmm. I still say that you should protect your plant with a tent made of window screen, or better yet, as Natasha suggested, Mosquito Netting, when they are outside. Hope this helps!! P.J.
