            Solicitation
When an issue of the Journal is released a call for new submissions
will be posted on the Forum.
This request will not constitute solicitation. In order to encourage
contribution within a reasonable time period a deadline for submissions
              will be given.
A contribution, invited by the Editor, will constitute solicitation.
Such an invitation will be sent explicitly to the potential contributor
in a dedicated written communication from the Editor. No other form
of communication should be considered an invitation for submission.
The Journal takes the view that any article, which has been solicited,
is not subject to the normal process of consideration but is subject
to review. Invited articles will be included in the upcoming issue.

            Review of submitted material
Material submitted to the Editor during the submission period will
receive an acknowledgement of receipt. If the material is unsuitable
for publication (or any part of the material) in the HPJ this will
be stated in the acknowledgement. Anybody may submit an image/illustration/photograph
for consideration for the cover of the HPJ. Precedence will normally
be given to those images accompanying an article accepted for publication
              in the HPJ.
Once the deadline has passed all submitted material will be reviewed
by the Editor or by designated reviewers (See Ethics).
A selection will be made from manuscripts, accepted during this
or previous review period, to contribute to the upcoming issue.
The contents of the upcoming issue will be chosen to reflect the
philosophy of the HPJ at the discretion of the Editor. Of all accepted
contributions, made during the last submission period, only solicited
articles will be guaranteed publication in the upcoming issue. Contributors
will be informed of the outcome of the selection process by e-mail
from the Editor, normally within two weeks following the submission
              deadline.
Several responses from the Editor are possible. These may include:

            1. Material accepted, publication date specified.
              2. Material accepted, publication date pending further submissions.
              3. Material accepted for future release in order to balance the
              issue under consideration.
In the event that not enough material is received within the submission
period authors will be advised that their work has been accepted
but that publication will be delayed. A new submission deadline
will be set and this process will continue until enough material
has been submitted to create a balanced publication.
In the event that too much material has been submitted an author
may be advised that their work has been accepted for a future edition.
