Here's another method for removing lumps. It's a bit more tedious
than using an electric mixer, but you get a real fine paste.

After mixing up the henna paste to the right consistency, I use a
plastic sieve to push the paste through into a clean stoneware bowl.
You can then transfer the paste into a zip lock back, cut one of the
corner tips and squeeze the paste into a squeeze bottle. Or just
scoop the paste from the bowl into your cone. Results: A real fine
paste that will go through the finest tip.

To apply henna, I use a craft squeeze bottle with metal tips, 4
different sizes. You can change the tips out during an application
to obtain different thicknesses. The paste will go through the
finest tip I have.
