The camphor henna, 24 hours after unwrapping is, maybe, darker than the non-camphor henna. The difference is very, very small, and could be from the right leg haveing a 1 hour headstart over the left leg...but it does look like there is a difference.....um...sometimes. I hate so sound so indecisive about this, but when I turn the light one way it looks like there is a difference, and when I turn the light another way they look absolutely the same. I'll pick up the camphor oil as soon as it comes in the store and try that. The camphor spirit (generic, no brand name) is manufactured as a liniment (external analgesic), sold in pharmacies, to be rubbed on the skin, and is $3.79 a 2 ounce bottle. So though there are warnings and a poision call number on the bottle, I'm not worried about dangers for healthy grownups. The warnings are for damaged skin, eyes, and it does say not to tightly bandage camphored skin. (Go easy on the wrap?) Looks like camphor spirit is worth using in the mix...or at least doing more tests with. I really like what it did for the texture of the henna. It may help the color, and it certainly does no harm. I'd like to hear from other people who do a side-by-side. I'll try more camphor next time, and see if more is better. I tried applying camphor spirit in places after unwrapping (3 spots, applying with a Q-Tip 5 times over 24 hours)....no change at all.
