I think men of this culture have a hard time accepting henna because
they try to categorize it under the "file of tattoo" in their brain --
the closest resemblence to body decorating that henna comes to. Once
it falls into that "file of tattoo" inside their head, then, of course
to a man, it's going to seem wussy. Try to tell the guy that:

1. Hennaing is not a tattoo art-form or a by-product of tattooing such
as stick-on Temporary Tattoos are, and

2. Henna is it's own form of body decoration that has been used for
just as long as tattooing has been used. (Usually most people who come
across henna for the first time have been thinking that tattooing is
the ONLY form body art that draws images on the skin...)

Henna is NOT tattooing. We just say "like a temporary tattoo" to draw
an association in a person's brain of a form of art that draws upon
the skin. You could say that Henna is "like a Harquus, but it leaves a
stain behind", but of course then most people are going to go, "Huh?"
'cause they never heard of Harquus before.

Henna should be filed seperately from tattooing inside a person's
little head.

By the way, I get certain glee out people that say I'm trying to
"screw up" my courage to get a tattoo. I proudly joust back, "Sorry,
bub, I've already got a tattoo. I just like doing henna 'cause it's
more versatile than tattooing..."
