Has anyone ever had people (usually men) come up to them and say that henna is a wusse's tattoo. I have had this comment time and time again from husbands of women I am hennaing, to people off the street who go wow is that a tat' and when you explain just what sort of tat' it actually is, they comment about it not being the real thing........ which leads me into the defensive rant about the skill involved, not like how most tattooists work over a stenciled design, blah, blah, where as most henna artists work freehand, (much more skill there) then they hit out with the "could'nt you handle the pain" line, and I have to compose myself, and keep my business etiquite and say, "so do you really like all your tattoo's, like the dog you got 15 years ago, because it was the cheapest design in the shop"? which usually puts them back in their box for the time being...... On the positive note though, I do have partners who look on, (with their "tat's") and be a teeny bit negative, the man "thing" amount, look through the design books, because they "have nothing better to do" and end up with a design themselves.... Isn't that the greatest feeling?
